Interview Summary

This interview, which occurred on March 25th with Gabi discussed her experiences at the University of Kentucky as a Jewish Student following the events of October 7th. Gabi, who grew up in Louisville Kentucky, was born to Israeli parents, discussed her Jewish identity, and how since coming to college she discovered how important it is to surround herself with Jewish peers and engage in Jewish cultural activities. In this interview, Gabi talked about what it is like to be Jewish during unprecedented times and specifically how there are no antisemitic remarks because Israel and Judaism are something that is not discussed on campus, and when it is it is discussed in a very one-sided manner. She discussed the role social media plays in the understanding of the War in Gaza, and how the student body perceives the events.
