Childhood in New Castle, Kentucky in the 1930s and 1940s, family's move from Lockport to New Castle, New Castle stores in 1930s, childhood rules and routines, school and sports, visiting family all over Henry County, visit to uncle at Newport News shipyard during World War Two, security during the Great Depression, learning that neighbor was on public relief, daughter of lawyer and landowner who was born 1929, early advantages from car, telephone and refrigerator, swimming in Kentucky River, camping at Butler State Park, summer jobs as teenager, observations of changes in children's' lives, children's' games.Interview Accession
