Interview Summary
This interview with retired Pakistan General Wajahat Hussain begins with a discussion of his time spent employed by General Douglas Gracey. He talks about how he came to work for General Gracey, as well as his basic duties. He then talks about the austerity that followed the establishment of Pakistan. Hussain talks about his daily tasks under General Gracey, including welcoming visitors and various administrative tasks. He also talks about the establishment of the Pakistan Army and discusses several difficulties that arose from dividing from the Indian Army. Next, Hussain discusses General Gracey's views of East Pakistan, which would later become Bangladesh. Finally, he talks about leaving General Gracey's employment and his return to regimental soldiering.Interview Accession
