Interview Summary

Costume designer Erin Slattery Black details her life in the arts, what drew her into costume design, and how she landed at the Jim Henson Company in New York City. She also talks about how she was moved to create The Backstage Bazaar with fellow designer Truly Carmichael when Broadway closed due to COVID-19. The Backstage Bazaar "is a free virtual marketplace showcasing the amazing art created by the theatre community... [and links] the online shops of these actors, designers, directors, stage managers and technicians from the global theatre community with theatre lovers who want to support them by shopping at their stores."
