Interview Summary
Heilman reflects upon his friendship with Robert Penn Warren, which began during their joint tenures as professors at Louisiana State University. The dynamics between Warren, Brooks (a colleague and close friend) and the English Department are explored, along with an examination of the founding of the Southern Review. The friendship of Brooks and Warren is also documented. Warren's role in the Baton Rouge community is described.
