Interview Summary

This is an interview with producer and Columbia Records audio engineer Howard Scott. The interview begins with Scott discussing Gramophone Magazine. It then moves to a discussion about the role of music producers and the microphones he utilizes in his recording.

Scott then discusses the effects recording has on musical performance, using the example of legendary pianist Glenn Gould. He then discusses his job as a music producer and talks about working with musicians. The two discuss books on Glenn Gould and the differences and similarities between recording rock music and classical music. The interview ends with Scott discussing his plans to lecture on audio engineering.
