Interview Summary

This interview with scholar and audio engineer Don Ososke begins with a story about sound amplification at the Monterey Jazz Festival. It then moves on to a discussion about the Ampex Electric Corporation. He also talks about audio engineering innovation at independent recording studios. Ososke then talks about Lee Hazelwood, Duane Eddy's audio engineer. He talks about the development of surround sound and the multi-track recording of classical music.
He then moves on to talk about the effects of recording on musical performance, and high-end audio recording equipment. Ososke then moves on to talk about his childhood and his feeling regarding the trajectory of music. Finally, the interview ends with a discussion of innovations in sound recording equipment.
