Interview Summary

Sara Holroyd tells her life story, starting in segregated Selma, Alabama. Holroyd recounts early contact with music in church groups and performing for soldiers during World War II. She also recounts the struggle brought on by the Great Depression and the death of her father. She goes on talk about her excellent academic career before becoming a teacher. Next, she recounts her teaching career starting at a high school and eventually working her way to the University of Kentucky.
