Interview Summary

This is Schmidt Horning's second interview with Al Schmitt, a producer and audio engineer from Los Angeles, California. In this interview, they discuss what it was like for Schmitt when he first moved to California in the late 1950s, including his impressions of Los Angeles as a city, his impressions of the recording industry in the city, and his impressions of the various studios throughout the city. He talks briefly about several other topics as well; including labor unions, the Pope family in New York, and working with several different producers in Los Angeles.
