Interview Summary
Governor Wetherby discusses his family background and members, his childhood, and growing up on the farm in Middletown, Kentucky. Emphasizes his educational experiences from primary school until college graduation. Reminisces of playing college football and baseball for the University of Louisville and of the Louisville city life during his years there perusing his Law degree. Remembers the day the stock market crashed in 1929, and speaks of private practice with his brother. Explains the correlation of his family members' deaths and his passion for transportation safety during his time as governor. Discusses his father vividly.Interview Accession
