Project: Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment Oral History Project
Interview Summary
This interview with Mark Mason begins with a description of when and where he was born. He talks about his childhood home, and what he and his friends did for recreation, such as football and other sports. He also talks about how his family disposed of trash and obtained water. Next, Mason talks about his involvement with Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment (PRIDE), which primarily consists of providing septic systems to homes with straight pipes. He then talks about his most difficult case, which involved an elderly man who had just had open heart surgery and whose only method of heating his home was a coal burning stove.
