Interview Summary

This interview with the city of London (Ky.) Public Works Director Steve Edge begins with an explanation of his job description. He then talks about his childhood, including a description of his childhood home and what he did for recreation. He also talks about how his family obtained water and disposed of waste.
Next, Edge talks about the issue of illegal dumping in Laurel County (Ky.) and talks about waste disposal in the county, as well as the recycling program available. Finally, Edge talks about his involvement with Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment (PRIDE) and talks about what the environment would be like without the program. Edge also discusses cleaning up Laurel County (Ky.) and the role that education and peer pressure plays in changing habits.
