Interview Summary
A fifty year member of Second Presbyterian Church at the time of the recording, Clara Allison shares her memories of her time with the church. She discusses her marriage conducted by Dr. Herrmann in October 1937; the formation of Kupples Klub; the formation of Forum; the church's 125th Anniversary in 1940 that included a play written and directed by Miss Ruth Matthews in which James Goode played Dr. James McCord, and Mary Skinner played Mrs. McCord. She also talks about a refugee family from Latvia, the Boy Scouts (with fourteen Eagle Scouts under which Dick Allison was scoutmaster), Dr. and Mrs. Herrmann's 25th wedding anniversary, and quartet singing at the beginning of worship that included Dick Allison, Howard Curry, Sr., Wilson Saul, and Fred Austerly.Interview Accession
