Interview Summary
Dr. Millard, D.D. discusses his family history and education, his ordination as a Christian Church minister and his move to the Presbyterian Church. He moved to Lexington in 1958, attended College of the Bible, and served as Executive Assistant at Second Presbyterian from 1958-1961. He talks about his experiences at Second Presbyterian, the Civil Rights Movement, Thomas Merton, and his ordination as a Presbyterian minister on June 7, 1961. He served as Army chaplain during the Vietnam era 1961-1970 in Texas, Korea, Kansas, Vietnam, and New York. He was pastor at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for thirty years.Interview Accession
