Interview Summary
Dorothy Arthur, who was born in Powell County, Kentucky in 1919 and is a lively storyteller, focuses her life story on her early and middle years. Her family--tenant farmers--moved frequently from farm to farm in Powell, Montgomery, and Woodford Counties. Arthur tells of hard farm work coupled with neighborliness and community gatherings. After she married, she and her husband farmed and gardened in Scott County.Interview Accession
