Interview Summary
Dr. Janeth Ceballos, a pediatrician in Lexington, Kentucky is interviewed by Reneé Collins for the I Am Diversity: Women Physicians of Color Oral History Project. In this interview, Dr. Janeth Ceballos details her life in Colombia, specifically her education, career, and way of life in the country. She then describes moving to the United States, and the cultural differences between the two countries.Dr. Ceballos describes the work and family life balance her family has discovered, as both she and her husband are physicians. Dr. Ceballos shares the importance of diversity in the medical field, as well as the challenges and discrimination she has faced. Additionally, Dr. Ceballos details the challenges of being a working mother.
