Interview Summary
Livia Bitton Jackson shares her memories and experiences of growing up Jewish during the Holocaust. She discusses being deported from her home and her experiences in concentration camps. She explains differences between the camps she was imprisoned in, Auschwitz and Plaszow, and shares about the people in them with her. She remembers meeting Dr. Josef Menegle and Amon G?th as well as women who turned out to be on Schindler?s list. Jackson recounts punishments she suffered and witnessed while imprisoned during the war, living conditions of the camps, and stories told to her by other prisoners. She highlights experiences she had with other survivors after World War II and teaching about the Holocaust as a professor.Interview Accession
