92nd Infantry Division (Buffalo Division - it and the 93rd Infantry Division were the only African-American combat infantry troops in the U.S. Army during the war); Italian Campaign; basic training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona; reason African-American troops were stationed in the desert; reception of the 92nd Division by African-American service troops in North Africa; 370th Regimental Combat Team; reaction of black troops to having white officers; duties with Headquarters Company; discrimination and segregation in the Army during the war; ASTP training; Louisiana Maneuvers in 1944; serving as liaison with Brazilian and South African troops; 442nd Nisei (Japanese-American) Battalion; escorting a German officer through Partisan territory in the Po Valley;Interview Accession
