Interview Summary
Russell Allen started as a janitor at the Lansdowne Club in 1959, the second year of its existence and moved on to the running of the swimming pool for forty years. He rode a city bus out Nicholasville Road from his home on Georgetown Street, got off at Zandale, and walked to the club until he bought a car. He was proud of the swimming team in its competition with other local area clubs and watched many of the children grow up to be prminent citizens of Lexington, Kentucky. He now works for the Lansdowne Company which manages the Lansdowne Shopping Center.Interview Accession
