Interview with Barbara Johnson, August 10, 2009

Project: Lansdowne Neighborhood Association Oral History Project

Interview Summary

Barbara Johnson worked for the Lansdowne Company (J.W. Davis and C.B Meachin) since 1966 as a bookkeeper. The company office was at the Lansdowne Club until a fire in 1979 saw them move to the Lansdowne Shopping Center. Barbara worked with the company during the development of the shopping center, beginning with a service station in 1965. She worked with many individuals and later builders to whom lots were sold in the Lansdowne Neighborhood. She also talked about the fact that the Lansdowne Company always approved plans of houses to be built and put restrictions in deeds.
