Interview Summary
Mike Hancock's interview provided an overview of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KyTC) from the late 1970's to the present and the unique relationship it has maintained with the Kentucky Transportation Center. It touched upon not only structural changes within the Cabinet, but also changes in approaches to dealing with transportation planning and management of information. The interview touched upon the achievements of the Cabinet and the benefits of research information and education provided by Kentucky Transportation Center departments and programs. Included in this description were both technical and policy contributions that the Center has been able to provide the Cabinet that have facilitated planning and program management. Specific examples included innovative financing and advancements in context sensitive design (i.e. in the Paris Pike widening project).Interview Accession
