Interview Summary
Dr. Marcia A. Dake (Dean of the College of Nursing 1958-1971) was the University of Kentucky College of Nursing's first dean. In this interview she discusses her nursing education and her initial impressions of the University of Kentucky Medical Center team. Dake also discusses her formulation of new ideas and innovations as the head of the College of Nursing. She outlines some of the challenges she faces, including authoritative doctoral prejudices and changes in administration.
