Interview Summary

Syed Mohammad Mehdi, a Muslim Indian living in Aligarh, India, begins the interview by summarizing the events that lead to him relocating there. Mehdi also discusses his father and the time he spent living with his uncle in England while attending Cambridge University as a graduate student. Next, Mehdi recounts his experiences with the partition of 1947 and the assassination of Gandhi the following year. Additionally, Hindu-Muslim relations within India are analyzed, along with how the dynamics between India and Pakistan changed once the partition occurred. Finally, the interviewer shares personal information and her connection to Pakistani culture.
