Interview Summary

Mr. John Hughes, Sr. tells of his career as an exerciser and groom in the horse industry. He gives a list of tracks he traveled to, noting favorites, and recounts a personal story about the 1947 Kentucky Derby. Mr. Hughes also discusses sensitive subjects such as alcoholism, discrimination and segregation.
