Interview Summary
Blanton begins the interview by providing an overview of his education and work history. Subsequently, Blanton describes his involvement in the establishment of WRFL, a student-led alternative FM radio station affiliated with the University of Kentucky. The purpose of WRFL is examined, as well as how funding was obtained for its creation. Additionally, logistical challenges of establishing WRFL are considered. The interviewee also gives his first impressions of the radio station. The reaction of the university's other radio station, WUKY, is also mentioned. Blanton then assesses the level of support WRFL has received from the university throughout the years.
