Interview Summary

Connie Neal talks about the state of Kentucky's decision to launch drug court in the mid-1990s as a response to the rise of crack/cocaine. She discusses her role being an integral part of setting up drug courts, first in Fayette County, and then in other parts of the state as a Regional Supervisor for implementing drug court programs in different counties. Neal also discusses today's drug court system in the context of the opioid epidemic.
