Interview Summary

Miles discusses Clements' successes in establishing the Agriculture and Industrial Development Board and the United States Geological Survey, and how those organizations' strong establishment kept Clements' vision in tact even through successive administrations. Miles discusses mineral resources, and technical issues surrounding iron ore and geological mapping. Miles describes the process of selecting and developing airport sites in Kentucky. Miles discusses the local legislation proposed in response to the Tidelands Oil case in Texas, and subsequent issues raised about the Kentucky-Ohio state boundaries.
