Brady Arnold Diaz was raised in Idaho. He has degrees in special education and psychology from Westminster College. He talked with a recruiter as well as socialized with RPCVs which influenced him to consider the Peace Corps. He accepted an assignment to work in a local elementary school helping struggling readers and training teachers in the Dominican Republic between Puerto Plata and Sosua. Brady shared his experience with host families from training through the first four months as a Volunteer. He also talked about his role teaching Spanish literacy as well as best teaching practices. Brady collaborated with a non-profit called DREAM Project which provided stipends for Volunteers to participate in summer camps that provided professional development for teachers of literacy and mathematics. It also supported field trips during the summer for students. The DREAM Project also provided Scholastic books to students through book fairs that Brady helped facilitate. Brady became a Volunteer Leader in his third year providing support to project managers with Pre-Service Training, visits to PCVs, organizing In-Service Training, and site development. Brady was also a member of the diversity/inclusion committee.
