Interview Summary

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Hal Lebovitz is a sportswriter and columnist. In 2000, he was inducted into the writers division of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. In this interview, he discusses topics such as his beginnings in the newspaper industry, baseball in Cleveland after World War II, Bob Feller's training and career, a book that he co-wrote with Satchel Paige, gambling in Cleveland, Larry Doby, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, and some of the changes in baseball since he began his career.
