Interview Summary

Arij Syed lives in Oldbridge, New Jersey working at a Rite Aid in Parlin. Syed speaks about his time working at Rite Aid right before the storm. Also, the storm became the talk of all the customers and also led to the rapid selling-out of items such as water, bread, ice, flashlights, and batteries. Syed also discusses how the governor and mayor prepared the residents of his town.

Syed tells about the aftermath of the storm and describes the mood after the disaster. Also, he talks about the process he and his family took to clean the area and how the services such as Internet came back on for his area. He also speaks on his thoughts about Governor Christie's reaction towards the storm, the effect of the storm on the election, and the media coverage. Lastly, Syed speaks about the difficulties of receiving FEMA funding after the storm.
