Interview Summary
Kenneth Kinley is a permanent volunteer at Christian Appalachian Project as of the time of this interview. He talks about his background in the Air Force and as a chaplain. Kinley talks about the various positions he has held within Christian Appalachian Project during his time as a permanent volunteer. He talks about starting with the Christmas basket program and the donations that they were able to give to many local families. He talks about his transition to becoming a volunteer recruiter for CAP. Kinley talks about how the experience of volunteering at Christian Appalachian Project helps one grow spiritually. He talks about the adjustment to communal living at CAP and the benefits gained by living with others who are different from yourself. He talks about how people of various faith backgrounds get along and learn from one another at CAP. He talks about making arrangements with colleges, especially college chaplains, to give speeches about CAP on college campuses. Kinley talks about how being a volunteer at Christian Appalachian Project can be a life-changing experience for volunteers of any age.Interview Accession
