Interview Summary
Crystal Conning is an Australian-born Jockey who is currently racing in America. She discusses growing up around horses, primarily in the discipline of eventing. After riding in races for a year in Australia, Conning moved to the US where she first started riding for a trainer in Kentucky. The differences between Australian and American racing is also addressed. She talks about the challenges she faced both in a difficult career and as a woman. Conning also discusses sexism in the industry. Finally, she talks about some of her favorite horses, as well as walking through three of her first races.Interview Accession
