Michigan State University Vietnam Oral History Project

Project Summary

Michigan State University significantly influenced United States policy in Vietnam during the formative years of American involvement, 1955 to 1961. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's program of "nation building" called for extensive financial and technical assistance to South Vietnam's president, Ngo Dinh Diem. As part of this effort, the Michigan State University Group (MSUG) provided training and consultation in both police and public administration. Interviews in this project were collected as research for a doctoral dissertation.
