Interview Summary
Overstreet (House 1972-1992, 52nd district; Republican) discusses his young life growing up in poverty in Appalachian Kentucky. He mentions Berea College and the effects the school had on his life and his outlook. He also discusses his work with the Save the Children Federation and how that got him into law. Once in the House, Overstreet focuses mentions his philosophy about what representation means when views do not agree, and the power struggle between Kentucky's governors and the legislature.
