Corporal Kelly volunteered for 123rd Cavalry Division (Kentucky National Guard) - 123rd converted into 106th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion (Kelly served with Battery C); served in North Africa (speaks of Kasserine Pass and Tunisia); describes frostbite-- daring escape from North African Allied hospital back to unit in Italy-- aerial attack by friendly fire.
