Interview Summary
In this interview, Judith Moffett discusses 1992-2001. She describes her collection of letters, drafts of poems and books by James Merrill, and their correspondence. Moffett also talks about the sale to the New York Public Library for the Berg Collection of English and American Literature. She discusses Ted Irving retiring and moving to Utah and joining the Xenobia writing group where she met other science fiction writers from Salt Lake City, Utah. Moffett also talks about acquiring property in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. In addition, she discusses researching the Barrier Canyon Culture and Shamanism its contribution to the writing of "Holy Ground," which became "The Bird Shaman." Moffett also talks about Ted Irving's diagnosis of cancer and his death on March 6, 1998. She discusses living in Cincinnati and Ted's papers going to Western Michigan University. In addition, Moffett talks about completing research and writing for "The North, to the North," published by SIU Press in 2001.Interview Accession
