Interview Summary
Matthew Grissom is a lifelong resident of the region and his family has resided in Mayfield, KY for many generations. Grissom moved to Mayfield in 2014. He talks about how he and his fiancée were taking shelter in their home in the downtown area of Mayfield during the tornadoes of December 10, 2021. Grissom recounts his move to Mayfield, and the harrowing details of surviving a direct hit to his home by the tornado that tore through downtown Mayfield. He also discusses his family's experiences in the aftermath of the storm, as well as his hopes for the future.Interview Accession
