Interview Summary

Patsy Anderson's interview consisted of an over-view of the establishment of the Kentucky Transportation Center, early personnel, funding and initial programs. The interview included information on the organizational structure of the original Center and addressed early goals and obstacles faced by the Center. Anderson described the early scope and resources available to the Technology Transfer Program within the Center. She talked about early programming such as the successful Roads Scholar and Road Master Programs, the growth of qualification and certification programs, technical assistance programs; and how the Program has changed over the years. The interview includes descriptions of people who were influential in the history of both the Technology Transfer Program as well as the Research Program of the Center. She discussed partnerships and challenges at the local, state and national level; as well as the Center's activities with Perm, Russia, through involvement with the FHWA international exchange program.
