Mary Crook is an eighty-four-year-old woman who was affected by Hurricane Sandy. She had lived in the area for about eight years before the storm hit and in New Jersey her entire life. She lives in an apartment with her daughter and her two grandchildren.

She says that she and her community weren't optimally prepared and the consequences of the storm were much more difficult to deal with because of that.
