Interview Summary

Sharman Chapman-Crane discusses growing up in Worcester, Ohio, early experiences with art education, her father's family being from Kentucky, and studying at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. She also discusses her adult involvement with the arts: painting a mural in a nursing home, teaching 7th and 8th grade art through Christian Services Ministries - making masks and using recycled materials, and exhibiting these at Appalshop in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She discusses her own environmental activism, both through her art and through Kentuckians for the Commonwealth.
