Photography in Kentucky Oral History Project

Project Summary

In this collection, photographers in Kentucky discuss their careers. The old Lexington Camera Club is extensively mentioned. The Lexington Camera Club was founded around 1936 and disbanded in the early 1970's. It was the longest running photography club in Kentucky. After the club was disbanded a new club was formed called the Creative Camera Club. In these interviews, both members and non-members discuss how they got interested in the field of photography. Members discuss the foundation of the Lexington Camera Club and how they came to be involved in it.
