Interview Summary
A native of Memphis, Bernard Standard was a student at Memphis State when Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, and he witnessed rioting following MLK's death. His interview includes a description of helping students get away from the riots. Standard moved to Hopkinsville in 1978 to work in a finance office and eventually became Executive Director of the Human Relations Commission.Interview Accession
