Hall talks about the initial inspiration that got him started into writing and the childhood experiences that he aims to understand with his works. He discusses his time teaching poetry and photography at MIT and at the University of Connecticut. He expresses his views on the idea of art, writing, the nature of poetry, The New Yorker magazine, creativity, and teaching.
