Interview Summary

Michael Geneve (Mozambique, 2003-2005; Education) discusses graduating from the University of Kentucky in graphic design and working for Ace Weekly magazine in Lexington, Kentucky before joining the Peace Corps. He describes his teaching and secondary projects that included a library, an art group, and a women’s empowerment group. Geneve also talks about recreation, visiting South Africa with his father, and learning Portuguese and Xitswa in Mozambique. In addition, he discusses coming home and the impact of the Peace Corps experience on his change in career goals, including his decision to get a master’s degree in community and leadership development at the University of Kentucky.
