Interview Summary
Turner (House 1976, 1980-1996; 22nd district; Republican) relates his childhood experiences in rural Monroe County, including the role religion played in that area, and early political interests which led to his writing speeches for local politicians. Turner's military service and employment are discussed, as well as his impression of governors, agricultural concerns, stump speeches, bipartisanship, legislative independence and political philosophy.
