Interview Summary

Filmmaker Elaine McMillion Sheldon talks about documenting the opioid epidemic as a native West Virginian, giving fair coverage to topics like medication-assisted treatment. She talks about Appalachia, technology and progress, and how those themes relate to the opioid crisis. She discusses her Netflix film 'Heroin(e)', and her most recent film 'Recovery Boys.' She also talks about her personal background and childhood coming from a coal mining family in Logan, West Virginia.
