Interview Summary

Kate McAnulty, Director of Graduate Student Services at Kent State University, discusses her memories of her father, Justice William McAnulty. Kate discusses McAnulty?s cooking and discusses a few of the favorite things he made including elaborate weekend breakfasts. Kate provides insight about how her father decided to enter the law after earning his Master?s in Special Education. McAnulty served as President of the Student Bar Association. Kate shares McAnulty?s impression about the importance of serving on the Supreme Court. She also shares the impact that campaigns, especially the final one, had on the family and Judge McAnulty. Finally, Kate shares her thoughts on what Judge McAnulty?s legacy as an African American Judge is.
