Interview Summary
Leandra Forman is the Co-Executive Director and Director of Operations at FoodChain, a nonprofit organization in Lexington, Ky., focused on community food equity. Growing up working with food and living in Kentucky and abroad shaped her interest in food systems. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her organization hired unemployed food service workers, provided meals to the community, and conducted public health education, revealing the inadequate response to food insecurity. This experience sparked national conversations about food access, food insecurity, and social justice.Interview Accession
