Interview Summary

Linda Elkington was involved with the Appalachian Volunteers for two summers and on weekends while she attended Berea College in the 1960s. In this interview she discusses why she attended Berea College and how she became involved with the Appalachian Volunteers. She talks about the work she did each summer, the families she lived with, and conflicts between herself and other volunteers and between the volunteers and local politicians. She talks about her career after graduating college and the impact of her time with the Appalachian Volunteers on her life.
