Interview Summary

This issue of "Pondering Kentucky: The Magazine" features several recordings from the To Do Conference, a conference for journalists, lawyers, and judges to tell stories, sing, and play instruments. First, David H. Holwerk, the editor of the Lexington Herald Leader's Editorial Page, performs a song. Judge Benjamin Dickinson of Barren County (Ky.) shares a story about a court case. Judge Steve Hurt also shares a story about a court case. Finally, David Jewell, the outgoing president of the Kentucky Bar Association, tells a story about a court case he was a part of.

Then Glen Bastin speaks with George Anne Egerton, a Kentucky singer from Elizabethtown (Ky.) about her time recording an album in Nashville (Tenn.). They also discuss her career, the meanings of her songs, and a recording of her song.

William "Bill" T. Douglas, a ninety-five year old man from Edmonton County (Ky.) shares his life experiences with Glen Bastin. They discuss the Civil War and the evolution of transportation. Additionally, they discuss Douglas' role in the (William) Floyd Collins Rescue Mission at Sand Cave.

Glen Bastin then speaks with Danny Watson of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife about opossums in Kentucky. They discuss young opossums, the benefits of opossums, and if they are considered harmful creatures.

Then, Glen Bastin visits Carold Bonds, a tour guide at the National Scouting Museum in Murray, Kentucky. The tour highlights Norman Rockwell's Boy Scout paintings featured in the museum.

The issue ends with a recording of Bowie Kuhn, a former baseball commissioner, speaking at Governor A. B. "Happy" Chandler's memorial service.
